Alexander McQueen Horn of Plenty Jacket, FW 2009
"It's a sackable offence, this collection. It's not safe in any way. It's a punked-up McQueen It girl parody of a certain ideal, of a woman who never existed in the first place. It's Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's. It's Dior. It's Valentino's ladies who lunch."

Look 10 from runway
Does up with a zip at the front which is concealed by the ruffles when worn
Dogtooth wool in a pale grey and black, silk lining, and contrasting satin stripe dramatic structured ruffles.
The collection "Horn of Plenty" took its title from the name of the pub where Jack the Ripper's final victim was last seen before her death; a hark back to McQueen's graduate collection "Jack the Ripper Stalks his Victims" at St Martins (1992). McQueen conceived of this collection as an iconoclastic retrospective of his career in fashion - haunting in that it was indeed one of his last.
Condition: Overall good, no flaws to exterior. On the lining there is a small tear, pictured, and some discolouration at neckline. Composition label has faded. Has been freshly dry cleaned.
