Jean Paul Gaultier sheer mesh long sleeved top, 1990s
Intricate kaleidoscopic pattern in tones of warm reds and oranges with cool blues and greens.
The front design is particularly dramatic — the top is open down the centre, fastened by three large red floral corsage ties. The print is a mix of fine stripes on the sleeves and tattoo-like motifs on the torso, giving it a trompe-l’œil, body-contoured illusion.
At the back, there is a gathered seam down the centre, adding a beautiful fitted shape.
